From A.H.T. gas production equipment, equipment supplied by KHD AG and equipment overseen or designed by Johannes Ferges.

By 1963, Deutz AG / K.H.D. AG had already produced around 15000 gas production units. Due to its extended use, a large amount of specialized knowledge from all around the world was able to be collected. However the ever decreasing cost of energy led to this knowledge being utilized less and less.

In 1980, after the world oil crisis, this technology once again became relevant and was actively pursued by Deutz AG / KHD AG. The company was able to adapt it to include automated control technology and fit regulatory framework at the time.

Once again energy prices fell, and the technology and know-how developed by Deutz AG / KHD AG was abandoned. This was until Johannes Ferges (department head at Deutz AG / KHD AG) and entrepreneur Jack McDevitt bought the technology and founded the company A.H.T. Later, worldwide patents for the technology were applied for and awarded.

Since 2004 the energy market has once again became favorable, and in 2006 A.H.T. sold its first commercial gasification units.

Now, due the continual development of the units, A.H.T. is able to offer a third generation of equipment. The new units are more efficient and maintenance friendly than ever.
